For the Dremel 4000 we will look at 2
dremel 4000 kits, the $75 and the $140 versions. The difference concerning the 2 is the quantity of accessories and attachments you receive with it. The
dremel 4000 is durable and fun to operate. It has a 6 foot cord, pencil-grip nose cap for stability, and replaceable motor brushes for extended motor life.
Features Of The Dremel 4000
Easy-to-read speed settings make for accurate speed adjustment, while an innovative shaft lock device lets you secure the output shaft fast when changing accouterments.
The
dremel 4000 weighs slightly greater than one pound, so you can work all day without unnecessary strain on wrists, arms, or hands. Although some feel the main fault of the
dremel 4000 is it’s weight. If you are going to be sitting at a desk and doing fine arts and craft type work for hours, then it’s too heavy a power tool, so it really depends on the “fineness” of the work. his problem can be handled by getting the flex tool attachment.
The
dremel 4000 is ideal when it comes to project flexibility. In fact, it’s the only
rotary tool compatible with all Dremel accessories and attachments, as well as the MultiSaw and Planer attachments originally produced for the 400 Series XPR
rotary tool. It also offers a lawn mower blade and yard tool sharpener attachment; the Detailer’s Grip, which enables the adding of a pistol grip to facilitate greater control; and the Sanding/Grinding Guide, which allows you to either pilot a workpiece to a snugly mounted
rotary tool or steer the tool along the edge of a flat or beveled surface.
Uses
Some examples of uses for the Dremel 4000 include: Removing a oxidized sector of exhaust pipe on your vehicle with the flex shaft attachment and a EZ-Lock metal disk, cleaning an aluminum casting with with a wire wheel to fix the compressor for an air-suspension pump, removing plastic with a ball-burr to replace a DC power jack in a notebook, and there are many more.
The Dremel 4000
rotary tool has varied speeds of 5,000 – 35,000 rpm. High speed, when coupled with the right accessory, is what makes the
rotary tool so useful.
The top results generally come about when taking a less aggressive aproach, and more numerous passes. Undue force on the spinning accessory and the work piece can destroy one or the othe, or both. If the accessory is not producing the desired effect, I would suggest adjusting the speed, or trying an alternative accessory.
The Dremel 4000-2/30 High-Performance Rotary Tool Kit and the Dremel-6/50 High Performance Rotary Tool Kit contain the Dremel 4000, which provides the highest performance and the greatest versatility of all Dremel rotary tools. Strong, user-friendly, and built to last, this convenient little tool helps you complete a wide range of crafting, hobby, and artisan projects. They come with 30 accessories, 2 attachments, and 50 accessories and 6 attachments respectively and a deluxe carrying case.
- “I”ve been using dremel tools for years and love them. The 4000 is light weight comfortable and easy to use. On off switch and speed controles are in great locations. With the choice of attachments drilling, sanding, cutting and so many more! The uses for this cool tool are endless.” See the full review!
Here is why you need to look at the bad as well as the good:
- “I was very excited for the release of this product and bought it the day it hit the shelf. If you worked with the 400xp like I did, this is definitely a power surge machine, like going from a ford taurus to a ford mustang. After about a week of using it though, the machine was already not operating as new.” See the full review.
Now this tool has over 200 positive reviews on Amazon but if you don’t look at both the good and the bad you won’t have a complete picture of the tool. So read the reviews!
